Reporting on Climate Change × Disaster Reduction Forum

[Graduate School of Disaster Resilience and Governance] 2024.06.17

On March 10, 2024, the Graduate School of Disaster Resilience and Governance, University of Hyogo, together with APN (Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research), held the “Climate Change × Disaster Reduction Forum”. The forum was simultaneously streamed online with simultaneous interpretation in English and Japanese from the venue at HAT Kobe, and was attended by about 110 people from Japan and abroad (about 30 at the venue and 80 online). In recent years, weather disasters beyond expectations have been occurring frequently in many parts of the world, and “climate change” is now said to be a “climate crisis. This forum was held under the theme of ‘Climate Change × Disaster Reduction’ to provide residents with an opportunity to think about climate change around the world from a personal perspective and feel its relevance to their daily lives.
