Noto Peninsula Earthquake Disaster Relief Donations by Students of the School of Science

[Graduate School of Science] 2024.06.04

“Sparkle”, a voluntary association of students in the School of Science at the University of Hyogo, collected textbooks and books no longer needed from within the University and from the community. Those textbooks and books were sold at very reasonable prices when the new first-year students came to the School of Science at the beginning of April. We also sold them to the local community. In addition, we held a fundraising event on the campus of the School of Science to raise money for the relief efforts. We were able to raise 100,240 yen which was handed to the mayor of Tatsuno, Yamamoto, as a donation for the Noto Peninsula earthquake disaster. The donation will be used by the Japanese Red Cross Society to support the lives of people in the affected areas.
