In August 2022, the University and ESPEC Corp. signed a collaboration agreement to promote the SDGs. The Institute of Natural and Environmental Sciences (Nature and Environment Division) is working with ESPEC Corp. on biodiversity conservation, particularly by supporting the company\\\'s “ESPEC 50-year forestation” project from a research perspective.
On Saturday, November 18, the second tree-planting ceremony was held at the reforestation site in Sanda City. Professor Yuji Sato, a specially appointed professor from the Institute’s SDGs Promotion Office, participated alongside members of ESPEC Corporation and its affiliated companies, planting trees such as Japanese red pines, konara oak, and Japanese cherry blossoms. Imagine what kind of forest will take shape in this area 50 years from now.
The institute is developing a variety of initiatives in cooperation with other organizations.
