Volunteer students from the School of Science at the University of Hyogo have started a student group activity group called “Sparkle” with the aim of communicating to local residents and researchers their areas of expertise, deepening cultural exchanges, and bringing brilliance to the area while making the most of its characteristics.
As the third activity of the group, an explanation of the rich flora and fauna of Koto and the surrounding area was given at Koto Plaza in collaboration with the University\'s nature study group. This event was supported by the Natural Science Club of the junior high school and high school of the University of Hyogo. Koto and the Tsunogame area are said to be one of the richest biological treasures in Hyogo Prefecture.
Students and local residents enjoyed learning about the wide variety of plants, insects, aquatic animals, birds, and other creatures that are around us but that we don\'t pay attention to and miss, through reference materials, slides, and original specimens.
“Sparkle” will continue to develop projects and events for the revitalization of the Tsunogame area, and will also include regional exchanges to promote the charm of Tsunogame.
