Bosai Kokutai 2022 session “Mental and Physical Health of Caregivers in the Event of a Disaster” will be hosted on Saturday, October 22.

At the Research Institute of Nursing Care for People and Community, Bosai Kokutai 2022 session “Mental and Physical Health of Caregivers in the Event of a Disaster” will be hosted on Saturday, October 22 at JICA Kansai.

This session reported on the mental and physical health of healthcare workers working on the frontlines in the middle of COVID-19 , and on the specific examples of support provided by medical institutes to employees. Also, specialists pointed out the effects that disasters have on the mental and physical health of caregivers and indicated which specific types of response and support are necessary.

This session is expected to assist with the disaster support work and self-care of healthcare employees as well as employees of local governments and general volunteers. This is an issue that is common in all disasters, and it goes beyond the issues and response in the event of the COVID-19 pandemic.
