With the adoption of the Paris Agreement in 2015 toward solving the issue of climate change, which is an issue on a global scale, countries have agreed to initiatives such as achieving, within the second half of this century, a balance between the emissions from man-made sources of greenhouse gas and the amounts removed using absorption sources.
Accordingly, governments have pledged to aim for carbon neutrality, with overall zero emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050, and it has become necessary for all businesses to make efforts to achieve this.
The Harima Industries Committee, since the inauguration of its predecessor Himeji District Planning Committee in 1981, has aimed to provide learning and technological promotion of chemical engineering at businesses in the Harima Province.
In addition to this Harima Industries Forum for information and personal exchange between members, events such as courses on the basics of industries and business study tours for young engineers have been held annually.
Due to the spread of COVID-19, the forum is being hosted for the first time in three years. This Harima Industries Forum is planned under the theme of “Latest Initiatives for Realizing Carbon-neutral Societies”.
With the future vision of carbon neutral societies, which are a global aim, this event welcomes members of businesses that are investigating various measures, who will give presentations about the latest measures of their companies.
