The School of Human Science and Environment of Hyogo University was established in April 1998 as the Himeji Institute of Technology, School of Human Science and Environment following the change of Himeji College of Hyogo from a two-year system to a four-year system and the resulting merger with the Himeji Institute of Technology.
This is the first school in Japan to bear the name “School of Human Science and Environment”. With frameworks in both the humanities and sciences, it was inaugurated as a department that takes on challenges in emerging fields.
The School of Human Science and Environment started a first-semester doctoral program (master’s degree) in 2002 and a second-semester program (doctoral program) in 2004, and welcome its 20th-year anniversary this year.
To commemorate this occasion, a 20th-year anniversary ceremony of the Graduate School, School of Human Science and Environment will be hosted on Saturday, December 17 as an opportunity for exchange between professors at the university who have the knowledge for solving issues at a global scale and the next generation of children and local residents.
