This study examines how the public mindset was organized by state propaganda in China in the 1950s. At that time, China launched its nation-building efforts under the banner of an equal society. Under strong political propaganda, the people felt a sense of unity and were passionate about nation-building. However, the warped relationship between the state and the people eventually led to a serious human disaster, which happened 60 years ago, but may not happen again someday. It is important to know the path that human beings have taken, including the wrong ones.
