Due to human activity in rice paddies and mountainous areas, biodiversity has been rapidly decreasing. We are conducting research on the conservation of endangered species and communities in such areas based on ecology, focusing on the effects of environmentally friendly rice cultivation on the species composition and population density of plants and animals living and growing around rice paddies. We are also examining the effects of rice paddy biotope management on the diversity of plant communities in fallow rice paddies and other areas. This study focuses on the effects of rice paddy biotope management in fallow rice paddies on plant community diversity.
